  • The narthecium and reductor are his defining wargear (medicae recovery and gene Seed); a boltgun, bolt pistol and chainsword for self Defence in the line; no specials or heavy weapons his work is keeping the crusade manned, not adding a gun to it

The Apothecary bears the narthecium and reductor above all else — the tools that draw a wounded brother back from death and lift the gene-seed from the slain. For his own defence he carries a boltgun, a bolt pistol and a chainsword, and buys no special or heavy weapons. His charge is to keep the crusade at strength, not to add another muzzle to the line.

The High Marshal leads from the tip of the charge and bears no heavy weapon. He may buy any bolt basic, any pistol, and one of the flamer, meltagun or plasma gun, and take the full close rack — power sword, power fist, thunder hammer. To him alone answers the Sword of the High Marshals, and to him alone the Tabard of the Eternal Crusade — Chapter relics no lesser brother may carry. He may wear any mark to the Terminator plate, lean the storm shield the Templars favour, and bear the iron halo.

  • Mark Centurion Warsuit
  • Heavy Bolter
  • Multi Melta
  • Power Fist

  • Armament is warsuit Scoped the twin heavy mount and the Assault siege drills are part of the chassis, not purchased from the shared racks; on the Templars the pattern favours the Assault siege Breaker that walks its guns forward and cracks the wall

The Centurion purchases nothing from the shared racks. Its paired heavy mount and the Assault-pattern siege drills are fitted to the warsuit itself, fixed and integral. Among the Templars the favoured build is the Assault siege-breaker, an engine that walks its guns to the wall and breaks open what the charge cannot climb.

  • Plasma Pistol
  • Crozius

In the melee the Chaplain wields the crozius and nothing besides — the warrior-priest's own badge of office — and reaches for a bolt or plasma pistol at range. No Basic, Special or heavy weapon comes to his grip. About him hang the Crusader Seals, whose litanies turn aside the witch's sorcery, and the purity seals the devout Chapter piles on without stint; a Cenobyte Servitor may attend him. He may don the Terminator mark.

The Emperor's Champion is never without the Black Sword in his grip and the Armour of Faith upon him — the twin relics that mark the chosen, laid aside by no man. Beyond them a bolt pistol is his only ranged arm; he bears no Basic, Special or heavy weapon. He may don the Terminator mark to carry his duel into the thickest press.

The Castellan carries a wing of the charge and takes up no heavy weapon. His list runs to any bolt basic, any pistol, and one of the flamer, meltagun or plasma gun, with the melee options open to the power fist and thunder hammer. He may raise the Crusade Banner, whose lifting deepens the sworn Vow for a round. He leans the storm shield and wears any mark to the Terminator plate — a Castellan marches kitted for the front rank.

An Initiate draws on the widest rack in the crusade. He may take any bolt basic, either pistol, and one of the flamer, meltagun or plasma gun; a single Devastator-pattern heavy goes to the squad's fire-support brother, though a host sworn to close carries few of them. He may load the abhor-the-witch bolts, blessed against sorcerous prey. In the press he wields a chainsword or a power weapon and leans a combat shield, and he wears the Power or the Gravis mark.

  • Bolt Pistol
  • Boltgun
  • Bolt Carbine
  • Astartes Shotgun

The Neophyte arms with a boltgun, a bolt carbine or a shotgun, and the sharpest eye among the apprentices earns a bolt sniper rifle. For close work he keeps a combat knife or a chainsword. His grenades are frag alone, and his plate is carapace alone — the black armour is not yet his to wear. No plasma and no heavy weapon reaches him before he takes the black.

Sword Brother equipment list

  • Mark Power
  • Mark Terminator
  • Boltgun
  • Storm Bolter
  • Bolt Pistol

  • The veteran melee rack fist, hammer, claws or power weapon plus the signature storm shield; a storm Bolter combi or boltgun for ranged; no specials or heavy weapons; may take the Power or Terminator mark for the deep Strike Sword Brethren build

The Sword Brother claims the veteran's close rack — lightning claws, a thunder hammer, a power fist or a power weapon — always answered by the signature storm shield. In place of the stock arms he may swing the kitbashed crusader power maul or the relic-pattern Sword Brethren blade. A boltgun or a storm-bolter combi serves at range, and nothing weightier; no specials, no heavy weapons. He wears the Power or the Terminator mark, the latter for the brethren who teleport into the enemy's heart to begin the killing.

Techmarine equipment list
Allowed
  • Mark Power
  • Boltgun
  • Bolt Pistol
  • Meltagun
  • Grav Gun
  • Power Fist
  • Signum
  • Servo Skull
  • Frag Grenade
  • Krak Grenade
Restricted
  • Special weapons restricted to the melta and grav the artificer favours for anti Armour work; the power fist stands in for the servo Arm's crushing grip; no heavy weapons his craft is the walkers and relics, not a gun on his back

The Techmarine takes a boltgun and a bolt pistol, and among the specials only the meltagun and grav-gun he prizes for cracking armour. A power fist does the work of the servo-arm's crushing grip. A signum and a servo-skull complete his kit. He shoulders no heavy weapon, for his art lies in the walkers and the Chapter's relics, not in a gun of his own.
